Slowdown in incorporations

Bermuda?s rate of insurance incorporations slowed in August with no new licences being issued, according to Bermuda Monetary Authority figures released yesterday. The lack of activity compared to three new insurance ventures being established on the Island during August 2004 ? two captive, or self-insurance type ventures, and one class three licensed entity. For the year to date, Bermuda has handed out 35 new insurance licenses. That?s eight fewer than during the same eight month period a year ago.
