Locals caught with drugs in UK, Canada
Three Bermudians on their way back to the Island from the UK and Canada this week were caught with a "significant" amount of drugs and arrested by Police.
All three arrests took place within 72 hours and yielded a "significant" amount of drugs said the Bermuda Police Service yesterday in a press release.
In the unrelated incidents, the BPS reported two Bermudians were arrested at Gatwick International Airport in the UK in connection with the drug offences.
A Bermudian man was also arrested at the Pearson's International Airport in Toronto on drug related matters as well.
"The arrests represent the continuing effort by the Bermuda Police Service in working with international law enforcement agencies, to stem the tide of illegal narcotics from making their way on our shores," a Police spokesman said.
"Investigators with the Bermuda Police Service continue to work with law enforcement agencies in Canada and the United Kingdom in respect to these three arrests."
The BPS said no information will be released to the media at this time regarding the names, ages, specific amounts of drugs, and places of employment of the three residents.
