Police investigating an assault on a teen

A teenage girl was assaulted at a Paget home on Wednesday, and found injured outside the residence by a member of the public.A police spokeswoman said: “Around 11.50am on Wednesday January 18, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the South Road, Paget area, near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road.“A member of the public reportedly found the victim, a 17 year old Paget woman outside the home and contacted paramedics.”The Royal Gazette understands the girl was unconscious when she was found, although the spokeswoman refused to confirm that.“The injured teenager was conveyed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and is currently in a stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries are ongoing,” she said yesterday.“Police are appealing for any witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen two or three men travelling in a car to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”Asked if the suspects are believed to have attacked the woman at the home, the spokeswoman replied: “As it is an ongoing investigation, there is not much more we can say at this time.”
