Children sent home early after school power cut

Pupils at a primary school were sent home today because of a power cut.
Children at Dalton E Tucker PS in Southampton were allowed to leave after a power cut around noon.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, said: “Belco was immediately contacted to rectify the issue.
“However, the decision was made to close Dalton E Tucker for the remainder of the day.”
Mr Rabain added the decision was in line with health and safety regulations that stipulated a maximum of two hours to sort out a problem.
Mr Rabain said that Belco staff had repaired the fault and the school would reopen tomorrow.
