donation to be used for much needed renovations to Hope Homes.

The money was handed over to the Association last week by Project 100. It raised by two main events -- the Project 100 ball and a senior citizen tea and fashion show.

Executive Director of the Association, Mrs. Ellen Douglas, who received the cheque, said: "Funds are desperately needed. There are several things that need repairing and renovating such as the plumbing system, kitchen, bathroom, doors and floors. General maintenance problems have to be addressed.'' Renovations on the home, which is 100 years old, began a month ago and will continue for several months.

Mrs. Douglas added: "It will take some time. Right now we are dealing with priority danger areas for safety. We appreciate the funds and we are beginning to make some headway.'' BUMPER DONATION -- Project 100 last week handed over an $80,000 cheque to the Association for the Mentally Handicapped of Bermuda. The money will go towards much-needed renovations at Hope Homes.
