A 63-year-old woman was surrounded by four men — three wielding knives — after she was forced to stop her car.

Police said that at 12.20 a.m. today they received a report of an attempted robbery in Sleepy Hollow Drive, Hamilton Parish.

A spokesman said: “The St. George’s woman stated that around 11.15 p.m. yesterday she was driving her car along Rocky Lane when an unknown man jumped out of the bushes in front of her vehicle brandishing a bladed article and demanding money.

“She stopped the car and another three men surrounded the vehicle, with two of those men also brandishing bladed articles. At this time a motorcycle rode into the area and the suspects made good their escape on foot. “

The St. George’s woman fled, escaping uninjured and with nothing taken.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident — in particular the motorcycle rider who rode through the Rocky Lane/Sleepy Hollow area around 11.15 p.m. yesterday.
