Cove beach reopens after repairs to hurricane damage
A beach has reopened after repairs to a hurricane-damaged wall closed access to it for more than a month.
But a spokesman for the Department of Parks warned visitors to Admiralty Park in Pembroke to be cautious as repairs were still under way.
He said: “The Ministry can advise that Covid-19 safety measures delayed completion of the construction project.
“However, the beach access steps and retaining wall that borders Clarence Cove has been repaired, and landscaping of the immediate is in progress.
“The public is advised to use care and caution when travelling through the park, especially in the area in question.
“The Ministry encourages the public's full co-operation and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”
The retaining wall and the steps to the cove suffered hurricane damage last year.
Repairs started on March 15 and access to the beach was banned while work went on.
