Soccer sponsor cries foul
English soccer match.
The live broadcast showed only about 20 minutes of the main Charity Shield game and blacked out the climax of a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
Football fans said the station had misjudged the starting time of the match in England.
On Monday, John Barritt & Son sales manager Mr. Bruce Barritt, said he was hoping ZFB would give the company airtime in compensation.
The soft drink company had been hoping to advertise Coca-Cola during the broadcast.
"I thought it was a less than illustrious presentation,'' he said. "We have to discuss with ZFB what they are going to do about it.'' Mr. Malcolm Fletcher, general manager of the Bermuda Broadcasting Company, which owns ZFB, said: "It was a technical hitch. That's as much as I can say.''
