A good crowd turned out on Sunday to see Tony Adcock's Diamondway again break the record for a trotter at the Vesey Street track.

He won one of his heats in a bistering time of 1:11, breaking the record by 2.2 seconds and moving up to the next time bar.

Also advancing a time bar was Timmy Boyle's new pony, Shamrock Temujen, while Michael Roberts' Direct Toy Boy moved up to the junior free-for-all. He thus becomes the first Bermuda-bred pony to race at this level.

Michael DeCosta's Grand Shady returned to racing after a short lay-off and won the first heat of the free-for-all. In the second, Carolina Jubilee, driven by Murray Terceira, won in 1:06.2 to tie the track record.

Eddie Roque and Fernando Rego drove three winners each -- two of Rego's with his two-year-old, Little Bear, who now has six in his first 14 starts.

Two of Roque's victories were with his two-year-old Tuxedo Bow Tie who has 12 wins in 16 starts. The only other double winner was Todd's Ebony, driven by Samantha Hayward.

There will be no racing this weekend because of Equefest, with racing resuming on December 8 at 1 p.m.
