Police issue warning over summer cycle traffic
more young pedal cyclists will be on the roads.
A spokeswoman said yesterday that parents and guardians should talk to children about road safety and make sure they know the rules of the road before they get out on it.
She also reminded young people to take all possible safety precautions on the roads and ensure their cycles are equipped with a bell or a horn and proper lighting -- a white light in the front and a red light or reflector on the rear.
She added that cyclists must obey all traffic regulations, not tow others unless they are in proper seats, ride in single file, not weave in and out of traffic and signal before turning.

The man told Police he was walking his dog along North Shore Road with his wife just before 10 p.m. when a black and tan German Shepherd ran from a nearby property and attacked his dog.
The man said he attempted to protect his dog and the German Shepherd bit him on the arm.
