Woman attacked
hours of Saturday.
The 29-year-old female got to her Riddell's Bay home at 2.20 a.m. and was assaulted by an unknown man who hit her across the face with a heavy object, causing bruising and a cut to her right eye.
She struggled for a while with the attacker, before he ran off.
Police arrived and the woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and later released.
In more weekend violence, a Pembroke man received 11 stitches to a head wound after an attack on Friday night.
The 30-year-old victim was driving at the junction of Court and Angle Street, when a man known to him pulled out a weapon and launched an attack.
After hitting the car driver, he struck out at the vehicle, before the victim managed to drive off.
The complainant was treated in hospital for a head wound, bruising and cuts.
And in Sandys Parish a 45-year-old man was attacked by a youth leading a ten-strong gang.
The attack happened at the Springfield Community Centre at 3 p.m. on Saturday, when the victim was allegedly hit by the youth brandishing a metal strip.
Police arrived, but the attacker and the rest of gang escaped.
The victim was treated in hospital for cuts to his face and arm.
