Breaking News: Arrest after machete attack on cricketer

A man has been arrested in connection with the machete attack that left national squad cricketer George O’Brien Jr. seriously injured.

Police reported this afternoon that a 23-year-old St. George's resident was in custody at Southside Police Station assisting officers.

Mr. O’Brien, considered to be a crucial member of the St. George’s cricket team, underwent surgery at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after he was hit in his upper right arm.

The incident is said to have taken place Monday around 8.30 p.m. on Mount Road, St. David’s.
