The Ebola scare has prompted the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health, Seniors and Environment to draft formal guidelines regarding travel to Bermuda from countries experiencing the disease outbreak.
Senator Michael Fahy said: “Whilst there are no direct commercial flights to Bermuda from Ebola affected countries and there is a level of pre-vetting of passengers transiting through the UK, US or Canada, the Ministry of Home Affairs is of the opinion that it may be prudent to increase our procedures to protect public health.”
A further announcement will be forthcoming in due course, said the Ministry.
