Island records 33rd Covid-related death
The island has marked another death of a person with Covid-19, bringing the total fatalities from the illness to 33.
It was the first death linked to the virus since May 13.
The news came yesterday from Kim Wilson, the health minister, who offered condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
She added: “The Ministry of Health will not release any personal details about the individual, and I ask the public to respect the privacy of the family as they mourn their loved one.”
The next update on Covid-19 is scheduled for today.
As of Friday, when no new active cases were reported, there were 31 active cases of the virus with two in hospital – one in intensive care.
There were 27 cases under investigation, and the island’s total recorded cases were 2,491.
