A total of 9,300 shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index today.

More than $90,000 worth of shares were traded.

The index closed at 1,384, down 4.48 points (0.32 percent).

Ascendant Group — which owns Belco among other interests — saw 5,000 of its shares changing hands, leaving the share price unchanged at $5.75.

Financial firm Somers Ltd had 4,300 shares trade, leaving shares down 75 cents (5.2 percent) at $13.75.

The Bermuda Insurance Index closed at 1466.93, up 10.26 points (0.70 percent).
