Woolridge claims gold

Bermuda’s kick boxers left their mark on the tenth Pan American Wushu Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica, winning five medals including three gold.
Leading the charge were cousins Jermal and Sentwali Woolridge and Reyel Bowen who all captured gold in their respective divisions. Talia Iris won a silver medal, while Khalid Pitcher snared bronze.
Bermuda’s seven member squad, that also included Garon Wilkinson, the Bermuda San Shou president, and Samir Furqan, were scheduled to return from Central America yesterday.
The Pan American Wushu Championships, involving 23 countries, took place August 31 to September 8 at the Gimnasio Nacional de Costa Rica.
