Cuts cruise to easy win

Willow Cuts crushed Somerset Bridge by eight wickets in Saturday's only Premier Division game, played at White Hill.

Cuts wasted little time or energy dispatching the home side for a meagre 60 runs, with most of the destruction wrought by the right arm of paceman Rodney Fubler. Bowling unchanged, Fubler rattled through a brittle batting line-up to claiming five-for-18 from 13.1 overs, ending the Bridge innings in fine style by shattered Andrew Wilson's guard.

Vance Gilbert chipped in with two-for-22 and Richard Basden one-for-three as few batsmen offered more than token resistance.

High scorer for Bridge was Carlton Simons (14), while also reaching double figures were Paul Joell (12) and O'Neil Virgil (11).

Cuts cruised to victory, needing just 17 overs to reach their target, although Bridge were offered a glimmer of hope when Cuts' skipper Dexter Basden (seven) was trapped lbw to Andrew Wilson with the total on nine.

But Jermaine Warner (25) and Joseph Matthews (29 not out) quickly carried the visitors to victory.
