The first goal conceded by PHC in the league came in the last minute of the half through an error by goalkeeper Carlyle Crockwell when he completely missed the ball in his attempt to clear on the edge of the box. Chae Simmons must have thought Christmas had come early as he gratefully accepted the gift and scored into an empty net.
But the St. David's joy was short-lived as PHC went straight upfield and scored what turned out to be the winner when Smith got through the middle and tucked a low shot into the corner.
St. George's 2 Prospect 2 Prospect blew the chance to move into sole possession of second place when they allowed St. George's to score twice in the last 10 minutes at Wellington Oval.
Prospect took the lead early in the second half when former St. George's player Philip Bailey scored directly from a corner on the left. Andrew Bissell looked to have settled the outcome with a second goal midway through the half.
However, the sending off of Robin Hollinside for a second yellow card after a bad tackle provided the east enders with an opening.
Delbert Minors had a shot deflected onto the near post with the goalkeeper beaten as St. George's raised their game.
Mackie Crane pulled one back for St. George's in the closing minutes before substitute Donovan Thompson tied up the score to earn the home team their first point of the season.
Somerset Eagles 1 Social Club 1 Social Club had once again to fight their way from behind. Eagles went ahead in the 34th minute with a goal from Eddie Calendar. But Social Club got back on level terms after the break when Tokia Russell found the target in the 78th minute.

All their goals came in the first half, with Troy Berkeley opening the scoring in the third minute before Sean Symonds (35th) and Michael Mendes (40) gave them a comfortable lead. David Outerbridge pulled one back for Paget in the 67th minute.
Duane DeRosa of Ireland Rangers was sent off in the 87th minute for a second yellow card, having been booked in the first half.
