Bermuda-based Montpelier Re has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.105 per common share and $0.554688 per 8.875 percent Non-Cumulative Preferred Share, Series A. The dividends are payable on or about October 15, 2012, to all shareholders of record as of September 28, 2012.In July, the company reported a second quarter profit jump to $65.5 million from $23.6 million in the same period last year as pricing improved.The reinsurer said gross premiums written increased by 17 percent in the quarter, to $253.5 million, but were up 28 percent when adjusting for reinstatement premiums ($3 million) and the sale of Montpelier US Insurance Company (MUSIC) ($15 million).
