Hardy Underwriting Bermuda Ltd. has recruited two well-known characters in the Bermuda re/insurance industry as non-executive directors.

Montepelier Re chairman Anthony Taylor joins the board with immediate effect, while former XL Capital chief of staff Fiona Luck will start from March 1.

Mr. Taylor has been in the industry for more than three decades, and will be stepping down as executive chairman of Montpelier Reinsurance to become its non-executive chairman.

He has also served as Montpelier's CEO and president, as well as occupying posts with Wellington plc., Willis Faber Agencies and Lloyd's of London. Ms Luck was most recently chief of staff and special adviser to Mike McGavick, CEO of XL Capital Ltd., and has also worked for Ace and Marsh and McLennan.

Hardy also announced that its director of underwriting, Adrian Walker, becomes an executive director with immediate effect.
