Woman slapped police officer and told him he needed ‘heels and a skirt’

A woman was jailed for ten days after admitting slapping a police officer in the face when he tried to search her bag.Tenora Steede, 22, told Magistrates’ Court she was angry that the officer questioned her in a bathroom at the St George’s Club on Friday last week. The police officer complained of a cut on his face following the incident.“I had used the bathroom. I was about to leave. I didn’t steal nothing or nothing. To me it’s no crime,” Steede, of no fixed abode, told the court.“He had no reason to search my bag. I’m a woman. He’s a man. Don’t touch my bag.”She told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that was why she slapped the man, adding that she would do the same thing again.Earlier, prosecutor Auralee Cassidy had told the court police arrived at the club shortly after 8pm and arrested Steede on suspicion of trespassing.Told to hand over her bag, Steede told the officer: “It ain’t right, and I’m not giving you s***.”As the officer tried to take the bag off her shoulder, she continued: “Don’t you touch my bag,” before slapping him on his face.“You punk, you’ve been slapped by a girl. I will slap you again,” said Steede, a very short and slightly built woman.“You got slapped by a girl. Why were you flinching? You need a pair of heels and a skirt.”The victim looked in the mirror, saw that his face was cut, and went to the East End’s Urgent Care Centre for treatment, Ms Cassidy told the court.
