A plane with 250 passengers on board made an emergency landing in Bermuda on one engine in the early hours of Saturday after one engine failed.
The Air Europa Boeing 767 flying from Havana to Madrid landed safely at 1.30 a.m. after the pilot shut down the right engine.
Airport general manager James Howes said the airport had just 20 minutes to scramble six fire trucks from on site and at Clearwater to handle a possible crash. Air Europa brought in a replacement jet to fly the passengers on to Madrid at midnight on Saturday. The Boeing 767 is still at the airport.
