Four hurt in crashes

A cycle rider and his passenger were injured after their livery cycle was in collision with an SUV near Black Watch Pass on Wednesday night.

And in a separate incident, a pedestrian was hurt after being in collision with a cyclist at the junction of Crow Lane and Spurling Hill.

The first crash took place around 6.10 p.m. at the junction of North Shore Road and Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke.

The cycle rider, a 24-year-old Devonshire man, and his passenger, a UK woman, were taken by ambulance to hospital.

At 9.10 p.m., the driver of a cycle was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following the collision with the pedestrian.

The driver, a 35-year-old St. George's man, received a minor leg injury. The 29-year-old male pedestrian was also hurt. Witnesses are asked to contact P.c. Tiffani DeSilva on 295-0011.
