No new coronavirus cases have been recorded, the health ministry said last night.

A total of 1,698 test results were received by the Ministry and all were clear. One person has recovered while there were no deaths.

There are now just seven active coronavirus cases, all of which are under public health monitoring and no one is in hospital with the virus.

Bermuda has recorded 2,497 cases of the coronavirus since March 2020, of which 2,457 have recovered and 33 have died.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said that Covid-19 testing capacity has been increased.

She said that as of June 21, the Star of India will no longer be used as a Covid testing site and that the old AS Cooper shop in the Clocktower Mall, in Dockyard, will be used instead. The site will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am until 3pm.

Ms Wilson added: “We have increased appointment capacity, locations and accessibility throughout the island. Everyone is encouraged to book an appointment online at https://www.gov.bm/coronavirus-get-tested or call our Covid 19 Hotline Centre 444-2498 to book an appointment should you require assistance.”

Additional testing locations and times are as follows: Penno’s Wharf on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10am until 3pm, and Bulls Head car park from Monday to Saturday, from 10am until 3pm.

A health ministry spokeswoman said: “Residents who need a Covid-19 test to meet the outbound testing requirement in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada or another country, should schedule a Covid-19 test at the location and time best suited for their needs.”

The Ministry of Health said it will be able to receive test results that meet all requirements for travel.

The spokeswoman added: “Visitors are not required to schedule an outbound test – it will be booked automatically based on the departure date they entered on their Travel Authorisation.

“Visitors whose outbound test is scheduled for the day before a Day 4, 8 or 14 test can contact the Covid-19 Hotline to adjust their appointment.”

Of all Covid-19 cases, 308 are Imported. A total of 2,185 are classified as local transmission, of which 1,681 are local transmission with a known contact/source and 504 are local transmission with an unknown contact/source. Four are under investigation.

Bermuda’s seven-day average of itsreal-time reproduction number is less than 1.

Bermuda’s World Health Organisation country status remains at “Community Transmission”.
