Warwick man punched wife in face

A Warwick man who punched his wife in the face was yesterday remanded into custody.Stuart Lottimore, 47, of Tamarind Vale, told Magistrates’ Court he hit Yvonne Grey-Lottimore, because she accused him of cheating. He also admitted to causing wilful damage by breaking her $500 sunglasses when he punched her.Crown counsel Nicole Smith said the incident occurred on July 9 after Mrs Grey-Lottimore spotted her husband sitting with another woman in his car outside Hunt’s Wholesale on Middle Road, Warwick.Mrs Grey-Lottimore stopped the car as her husband was driving off, got in the passenger side and asked her husband to take her home.Instead, Lottimore drove the car to a nearby parking lot and ordered his Jamaican-born wife to “get out”.When she refused, he replied: “Call the cops, I want them to see me punch you.”Lottimore then grabbed his wife’s handbag and said: “B***h, you think you’re in Jamaica? I’m going to punch you, so call the cops.”Lottimore then poured beer over his wife’s head and punched her in the face.Mrs Grey-Lottimore then grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed Lottimore’s arm, causing him to walk away. The punch caused bruising to Mrs Grey-Lottimore’s right eye, Ms Smith said.Yesterday, Lottimore told the court his wife was a “dumb Jamaican b***h”.“She’s saying I’m f***ing somebody else,” he said. “I’ll take divorce. Her and I are no more. This is it. I’m tired of her. I’ve got six bloody children.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner called Lottimore a “bully”, and remanded him into custody until a social inquiry report could be completed.
