Clearwater Beach safe from bacterial issues, declares health ministry

There is no evidence to support rumours circulating about a potentially dangerous bacteria in the water at Clearwater Beach, the Ministry of Health has said.
A spokeswoman for the ministry said: “There is no evidence this information is accurate. The Ministry of Health conducts a routine seawater sampling programme on all local beaches.
“The most recent samples taken from Clearwater North and Clearwater South, were on June 7, 2021. There is no proof there is an issue with the bacteriological quality of the seawater at Clearwater, meaning the beach is safe.”
She said the ministry will continue to monitor the water quality at Clearwater, in St David’s, and all Bermuda beaches.
