A Police spokesperson said the boy, of Middle Road, Southampton, was walking across Middle Road near Granaway Heights in Southampton at 8.15 a.m. when the accident happened.

"He was knocked to the ground after colliding with a motorcyclist who was travelling west. The motorcyclist failed to stop and continued along the road.

The motorcyclist was a black youth and the cycle was blue.'' The spokesperson said the boy also suffered abrasions as a result of the accident.
