Festival build-up begins
Tickets for the 2014 Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts will go on sale shortly, and if the thought of a Beatles tribute band doesn’t grab your attention then watching Governor George Fergusson signing might.
The Governor and Ms Fergusson will be performing together alongside the Bermuda Chamber Choir in the first of a series of organ recitals.
Other acts expected to appear are YouTube sensation Pentatonix, and actor Julian Sands, who will be performing in a one-man tribute to playwright Harold Pinter.
“There’s a festival-within-a-festival of organ music; there’s ballet; there’s ballet and flamenco; a songstress; an Irish fiddler; brass and string ensembles; local jazz artists will be performing and there will be delightful rendition of Julia Donaldson’s tale of The Snail and the Whale for the very young,” Ian Davidson, the festival chairman, said.
“A ticket brochure has been sent to every household for all to review the programme and there are just a couple more weeks before tickets go on sale.”
