Sims misses cut again

Bermuda Open champion Michael Sims missed his second cut in a week on the Canadian Tour on Saturday when he crashed out of the Barton Creek Challenge in Austin, Texas.

Languishing at five over after 16 holes of his second round, Sims was forced into the clubhouse by the encroaching darkness on Friday night and had to return the next morning to complete the remaining two holes.

Needing a birdie to reach the cut which stood at four over, he was unable to summon the magic required to take him through to the weekend.

Sims also failed to reach the final rounds at the Barton Creek Classic the week before ? finishing some 13 shots behind the leader.

The next Canadian tour event ? the Northern California Classic at the Brookside Country Club in Stockton ? begins on March 20.
