Hopefully fan warning will stop the nonsense

The news that Liverpool have been longing for has been delivered in the case of the Hillsborough tragedy. It was a good thing for both the club and the community . . . it was a devastating loss of life. It’s now been revealed that fans weren’t to blame for this tragedy and it was pleasing to see teams from across the country giving their support to Liverpool.Hopefully the fans will show the same support when Manchester United arrive at Anfield tomorrow for what should be a highly charged game.Much was made of the chanting at Old Trafford last week with their fans saying that Liverpool always feel ‘they are the victims’.But both clubs have moved to put an end to this kind of behaviour quickly. They have warned that their fans face heavy sanctions if any nonsense goes on.Liverpool have a chance to beat their heated rivals but it all comes down to the desire to win and I think United have the edge in that department. Robin Van Persie will be key player for the visitors although in my opinion a draw is the most likely outcome.Arsenal have enjoyed a good start to the season but they will need to beat Manchester City in order to show that they are legitimate contenders for the league crown. The introduction of former Arsenal player Steve Bould as Arsene Wenger’s number two has helped them defensively and it will be an interesting game. One team that have surprised many people are Everton who don’t have any household names but this is a team sport and they have showed you don’t necessarily need superstars to succeed. The international break was good for them in the sense that they got the break to sort themselves out and refocus.West Ham have had a reasonable start to the season and we need to keep up the momentum and get some more good results, especially at home. This week we have Sunderland and we have to get off to a good start in order to get maximum points. If we can stay focused throughout the match then we should be OK.Spain’s La Liga has been turned on its head with the dip in form of Real Madrid and their current lack of form sees the club already eight points adrift of Barcelona. But it’s early days and injuries to key players will be a factor in the long term. If they can reel off a few good results and build up a head of steam then they will remain title contenders.Real put Manchester City in their place in the midweek Champions League clash and maybe that is the kick start that they needed to get their league campaign back on track. With the sport being dictated by money these days, teams need to be cognisant of spending too much. Case in point is Didier Drogba’s situation at the Chinese club Shengshua where the owners aren’t paying wages. If this is the case then FIFA need to step in and get these kind of issues sorted out because it will be to the detriment to the sport as seen at Malaga who had to sell Santi Cazorla to Arsenal to raise funds.
