Few named Aspen Re CEO in management shake-up
Bermuda-based Aspen Re has appointed James Few as its new chief executive officer in a management shake-up.As of yesterday, Mr Few took over from Brian Boornazian, who will become chairman of Aspen Re.The company, which is the reinsurance business of Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd, also announced hat Emil Issavi has been appointed its new chief underwriting officer.Mr Few is also CEO of Aspen Bermuda Ltd and a company spokesman said yesterday that he will keep that role and will continue to be based on the Island.“Aspen Re has grown to be an established market leader since our formation ten years ago,” said Aspen Insurance Holdings CEO Chris O’Kane.“A cornerstone of our success has been a rigorous focus on our clients and client service. Over this period, however, the reinsurance market has continued to evolve with increased emphasis on business being placed locally.“The changes announced today reflect this trend and our reinsurance business will be managed on an increasingly regionalised and client facing basis.”Aspen said Mr Boornazian’s role would include him being performance director of Aspen Re and CEO of North America for Aspen Re.Mr Few’s responsibilities will include developing, establishing and executing Aspen Re’s global business strategy.
