The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index edged a fraction higher last week, thanks to Butterfield bank shares rising by a cent.

The bank climbed 0.5 percent to close the week on $2, as 26,322 shares changed hands.

The Index gained 0.58 of a point, or 0.04 percent to close on 1,396.63.

Ascendant Group Ltd fell 25 cents, or 3.7 percent, to close at $6.50, as 1,000 of the energy group’s shares traded.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd also fell, dipping 11 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $3.90, on the trading of 3,000 shares.

BF&M Ltd and KeyTech Ltd also traded, but their share p[rices remained unchanged.

More than 32,000 shares traded during the week, and turnover topped $110,000.
