Morning commuters will find an extra incentive to give a wave and a honk to Johnny Barnes on their way into Hamilton this morning — the living legend turns 91 years old today.

Born in 1923, Mr Barnes has greeted passers-by on East Broadway since he first began the daily tradition 68 years ago, in 1946, while he was working as an electrician on the Bermuda Railway
