Bermuda-based mutual energy insurer Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Ltd. is set to move into the treaty reinsurance business through its AEGIS London unit.

The treaty business will be handled by Chris White, property treaty underwriter, who joins AEGIS London from Odyssey Re Holdings Corp., where he spent the past 10 years underwriting treaty and facultative reinsurance, AEGIS London said in a statement.

AEGIS London operates Lloyd's of London syndicate 1225 with capacity of £310 million ($479.1 million).
