Passenger arrested after flight diverted
A UK man was arrested shortly before 10pm on Friday after a Virgin Airlines flight to Antigua was diverted to Bermuda.
According to police, the suspect is currently being detained at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on drugs charges.
Meanwhile, enquiries continue into last night’s “disturbance” at Southampton Rangers Club, after which a 26-year-old Southampton man was treated in hospital for injuries.
Police said no formal complaint has been lodged but have asked for anyone with information to call the Somerset station at 234-1010.
Also under investigation is the high-speed collision of a motorcyclist and pedestrian on Middle Road, Warwick, near the junction with Ten Pin Crescent, that occurred at 12.15am on Saturday.
A 25-year-old Warwick man is being treated overseas for life-threatening injuries and footage of the crash is said to be circulating online at present.
