Butterfield Bank and BF&M Ltd shares rose in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

Butterfield gained five cents, of 2.5 percent, to close at $2.05 as 97,248 shares changed hands.

Insurer BF&M shares added 49 cents, or 2.8 percent, on the trading of 2,000 shares, to close on $17.99.

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 26.97 points, or 1.9 percent, to end the day on 1,447.62.

Volume totalled 99,248 shares, while turnover was $229,563.52.

The BSX Insurance Index closed 3.42 points, or 0.23 percent higher, at 1,470.32.
