Two men were arrested for impaired driving this weekend in separate incidents.

Officers were at the junction of Montpellier Road and Middle Road in Devonshire shortly after 10pm on Saturday when they noticed a car driving in a suspicious manner along Middle Road.

The officers followed the car onto Happy Valley Road where they stopped the driver, who they found to be unsteady on his feet. He was subsequently arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he failed a breath test.

Hours later, at around 1.30am on Sunday, officers on patrol on North Shore Road and Home Port Drive in Devonshire stopped a car.

Speaking to the driver, the officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol and that the driver’s eyes appeared to be glazed. He was arrested and detained after failing a breath test.
