Find out for free online which shops are open

A free online directory of places open for business has been launched.ShopSafe.bm is a listing of restaurants, shops and other businesses allowed to operate restricted services after shelter-in-place regulations were relaxed. The service was created by marketing and design agency Cosmic and managing and creative director Sean Collier said businesses can add their new store hours and how customers can buy goods or services.Mr Collier said: “Rapidly changing regulations before, during, and following the shelter-in-place have left consumers looking for answers. We thought that there must be a better way.“We noticed that many people were asking on Facebook groups or in WhatsApp chats to find out what was open, if they had updated hours, and how to place orders.“From this, we hatched the idea of creating a platform that would allow residents to easily search for a business, or a type of business, and see up-to-date information about how to shop safely.”He added his team wanted to launch an online directory that would be a comprehensive resource for businesses and consumers.Mr Collier said: “At first, we were thinking of our clients and what could help them specifically.“Once we fleshed out the concept, we realised that this could be beneficial to all of Bermuda.“We decided to offer ShopSafe.bm as a complimentary service for clients and competitors alike — after all, we’re all in this together.”Users on the ShopSafe site can choose to browse all businesses listed or narrow the search to specific businesses or categories. They can also search for payment and delivery options.Businesses can join the online directory by visiting ShopSafe.bm and signing up for an account. • For more information, e-mail info@shopsafe.bm
