Charity now offering Healthy Heart food
The Eliza DoLittle Society food charity is now equipped with a Healthy Heart section at its 14 food banks around the Island, thanks to a donation from the Argus Group.
The new section offers products low in sugar and salt, catering to people with health issues such as diabetes and heart problems.
“The Eliza DoLittle Society plays an important role in our society by feeding those who do not always have enough to eat,” said Argus Group CEO Alison Hill.
“It is essential that this food be nutritious and filling. Argus has a long established commitment to healthy eating and we are pleased to work with the Society to add healthy food options to their food banks.”
Along with helping to feed the Island’s needy, Eliza DoLittle offers education on healthy food choices, according to executive director Margaret Ward.
In addition to its array of food banks, the charity runs nine feeding centres and delivers to charities and agencies that provide food.
