A 17-year-old has been charged with unlawfully detaining and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, the teenager was not required to enter a plea, as the charges are indictable.

The alleged attack took place on January 29. Neither the victim, nor the defendant can be named for legal reasons.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the teenager into custody until he next appears for mention in two weeks time.
