Northlands has made me the person I am today

Good morning, my name is Zidonnae Robinson and I am running for student council president here at Northlands Primary.

I have been a student here for five years and during that time I’ve made some really great friends, not only with the students, but the staff as well. When I look back I can’t even imagine going to any other school besides Northlands.

When I came to Northlands I had very few friends and I was very shy. But Northlands changed all that. I now play sports, join clubs and sing in a choir. Everyone and everything here has helped make me the person I am today.

Northlands has not only showed me how to have and make friends, but also how to survive in the real world. Midland teachers taught me how to respect adults, students and, most of all, myself.

As student council president I’m not sure how much I could, or would even want to change about Northlands as it is already such a great place to come to. I can really only think of things like building more school pride and encouraging more parents to come and support our sports teams and events.

One thing I would really like to make happen is a fundraiser to put a shade over our school field. I know that is a huge project but it’s something to think about for the future.

If I am elected student council president I want to be the same type of person that everyone has been to me. I want students to know they can come to me with suggestions and I will listen to them and try to make a difference.
