Ahead of the Bermuda Marathon Weekend, Keep Bermuda Beautiful spruced up part of the race route with the help of 20 volunteers from the Garden Club of Bermuda.
The team collected about 1,000lbs of trash in roughly two hours — much of it beer bottles, which they gathered along North Shore Road and Palmetto Road west of Barkers Hill.
The club, which tends to the area as part of KBB’s adopt-a-spot programme, hauled away 56 bags of trash from the wayside. Volunteers were also busy tidying up in Hamilton Parish yesterday.
