BSX edges higher
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd was the biggest climber in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading last week.
The company, which owns The Royal Gazette, as well as retail, real estate and commercial printing interests, saw its stock price climb 50 cents, or 5.9 percent, to close on $9, on the trading of 600 shares.
Butterfield Bank also advanced during the week, gaining two cent, or 1.4 percent, to finish Friday on $1.42, as 168,706 shares changed hands.
Seventeen of the bank’s preference shares also traded, the price remaining unchanged on $1,182.
Ascendant Group suffered the biggest fall of the week, tumbling 4.8 percent. The parent company of electricity provider Belco finished the week 50 cents down at $10, after 29,600 shares were traded.
Telecommunications firm KeyTech Ltd also fell by five cents, or 0.8 percent, to close the week on $5.95, as 2,700 shares changed hands.
Insurer BF&M Ltd slid ten cents, or 0.6 percent, to close the week on $17.45, as 1,800 shares traded.
The Royal Gazette / BSX Index gained 4.39 points, or 0.37 percent, during the five days of trading, to end up at 1,161.62.
Volume topped 204,000 shares and turnover was more than $613,000.
