Lunch and learn with entrepreneurs
A scheme to boost new business start-ups is to host its last lunch for would-be entrepreneurs tomorrow (Tues).
Bermuda Emerging Professionals (BEPRO), part of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, will run a “lunch ‘n’ learn” event at the Chamber HQ off Front Street.
The theme of the lunch is “Keep Calm and Be Your Own Boss — Realistic Tips for the Aspiring Entrepreneur” and will feature a panel of already successful launchers of their own businesses to pass on useful tips.
It is aimed at those with a business idea and those who have just become their own boss.
A spokesman for BEPRO said: “We are extremely excited about this event and the empowering effect it will have on those who choose to attend.
“We have teamed up with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) to provide a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic panel of local entrepreneurs and believe it is an event not to be missed by aspiring or new business owners.”
The spokesman added: “In these economic times, people are often discouraged when it comes to achieving personal success.
“However, it is our hope that some of that fire will be restored in the innovator’s mind once they are exposed to the success of others.”
The event, to be held between noon and 1pm, is free for BEPRO members and $10 for others. To register or for further details, contact Velina Wheatley on 295 8932 or at vwheatley@bcc.com.
