Govt’s DCI director retires

Beverle Lottimore

Government’s Department of Communication and Information director has retired just days after being recalled from Washington.

Beverle Lottimore, 62, was appointed head of the department in 2003.

She was also the press secretary for former Premiers Alex Scott and Paula Cox, but was seconded to Government’s Washington DC office in September 2011.

That posting was initially intended to run for three years, but last month Ms Lottimore was replaced by former Business Bermuda CEO Cheryl Packwood in order to make the office more productive.

Ms Lottimore returned to the Island in mid-October and initially remained as director of DCI.

But The Royal Gazette understands that she accepted an offer of early retirement and left on October 31.

Jannel Ford has been appointed as acting director.
