Amnesty calls for volunteers
Amnesty International Bermuda is calling on volunteers to join its campaign in support of prisoners of conscience around the world.
The organisation sends out letters through the year drawing attention to the plight of those unjustly jailed. With Human Rights Day marked on December 10, Amnesty is urging residents to make their voices heard by taking part in a letter-writing marathon on that day.
The group is celebrating 30 years in Bermuda.
As part of the commemoration, Amnesty wishes to regain contact with those on the Island who were involved from the beginning with Amnesty’s campaign.
To join the 30th anniversary commemorations e-mail Suzanne Wilson at director@amnestybermuda.org.
Anniversary celebrations continue next month with the Amnesty Tag Day in Hamilton on November 16.
