National Sports Centre to stay closed

The National Sports Centre will remain shut until the third phase of Government’s reopening plan, management said today.
Craig Tyrrell, NSC operations manager, said the Pembroke facility was aligned with schools and Government offices in the plan unveiled last week.
Mr Tyrrell said: “The Government was clear that pools and gyms should remain closed and that sporting activities that cannot support social distancing guidelines should not restart, so we have decided that it makes sense for the entire facility to remain closed.
“We look forward to providing space when the time comes, but for now walkers and joggers are encouraged to use the nearby Arboretum.
“Please remember to maintain social distancing and the use of masks.”
