Catlin End-to-End seeking charities to sponsor

The Bermuda End-to-End has helped scores of local charities in its 26-year history — and next year it could be your charity’s turn.Bermudian charities are being invited to apply for support from the fundraising walk’s 27th annual community event, scheduled for next May 3.To qualify for funding, charities must be registered in Bermuda, not affiliated with any religious or other sectarian group and serve the local community. They must also be able to provide complete financial statements.Those wishing to be considered must download and complete the official application form, found on the End-to-End’s website: bermudaendtoend.bm, and return it by November 1.End-to-End chair Anne Mello said they typically receive more than 50 submissions for support each year. She stressed that only complete applications would be considered.“Each year, the funds raised by those who generously pledge to support participants in the Catlin End-to-End event go to a number of local worthy causes,” Mrs Mello said.“In most years, our 2,500-plus amazing participants and their supporters raise close to $250,000. Over the course of our 26-year history we have distributed more than $4.5 million to Bermuda charities.”The Catlin End-to-End event is organised by the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust’s Board, and is supported by numerous local sponsors and individual event participants.The fundraising event’s mission is to be the Island’s premier annual charitable pledge event and is “committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of the local community through all-inclusive activities”.www.bermudaendtoend.bm
