Gay agenda is a dangerous liberal ideology
September 16, 2013Dear Sir,What a difference a day makes here in our world out in the mid Atlantic. Bermuda is a hot bed of controversy, politics and inveterate religious fervour. Further to my most recent letter concerning open season on people of the cloth (Christian ministers) it is only fair in the light of recent public repudiation of the homosexual community to comment.I have no interest in personal asides in the letters column, this serves no useful purpose to me. No group should be singled out to be ostracised or condemned with the exception of a serious breach of our laws, even then they would enjoy due process. The LGBTQ group does not deserve to have open season declared on them either in a civil and just society. These people are human beings deserving a reasonable consideration of live and let live, moreover Christ Jesus died for them as he did for the whole world. The love of God must be demonstrated in this matter by those who profess to be Christians. This does not negate a very real concern of accommodation of a lifestyle unnatural as perfectly OK and being woven into society as acceptable and reasonable to teach our children and accept as morally correct. The gay agenda is not a written manifesto but a struggle for normalcy and installed acceptance of a dangerous liberal ideology.Ugly attitudes and nasty name calling has no place in the hearts or mouth’s of those professing the love of God. Our mandate is to win the lost and the dying and in that regard we must reflect the warm invitation of the saviour to enter into his forgiveness through love and no condemnation. It is most unfortunate though the very public support and sympathy of heterosexuals that give encouragement in so many areas of influence to what is just wrong for any society. Win them we must, the hour is late and the injunction is to be wise and do no harm or injury if we are to succeed. The rest is up to God!Wayne B Scott
