Nahki Wells has shrugged off injury and is expected to retain his place in Bradford City’s line-up for today’s Sky Bet League One home clash with Colchester United.City’s Bermudian striker sprained a shoulder during the Bantams’ emphatic win over Brentford in front of their home fans at Valley Parade last weekend.Wells suffered the injury midway through the first half after Brentford ‘keeper David Button made a desperate lunge at him just outside the penalty box and received a straight red for his flying challenge.“I went into a tackle with the ‘keeper and fell on my shoulder,” Wells told The Royal Gazette. “The tackle could’ve been a lot worst but thankfully I only came out with a sprained shoulder.“I missed the earlier part of the week’s training because I had to get treatment. But I trained fully yesterday (Thursday) and today (yesterday) and I’m expecting to be one hundred percent for tomorrow (today).”City host Colchester at Coral Windows Stadium today where they have yet to drop a single point or concede a goal in the league so far this season.Wells and his Bantams teammates are gunning to keep the impressive home winning streak going.“We look at our home as our fortress and anyone coming to Bradford City can expect a tough game,” he said. “As you can see Arsenal and Aston Villa have struggled there (in the 2012-13 League Cup) and I think it’s just the atmosphere and the understanding of what’s needed to win a football match. That’s why I think we are so successful at home.”As for his team’s unblemished defensive record, Wells added: “We haven’t conceded and we would like for it to continue that way. I’m positive if we start the game well and play on the front foot like we usually do we should get the win and keep a clean sheet. It’s a tough ask to keep a clean sheet for as long as we’ve done so just the win would be great really.”Wells and his City teammates will venture into the unknown against a Colchester side who are sixth places below them in the league table and are currently on a three-game losing skid.“We know they are below us but it’s a difficult judgement to make because there are a few very good teams that have had bad starts,” he said.“We do have a psychological advantage because they are coming to a massive stadium in front of massive crowd at a massive club so I think we are favourite to win the match. But the match is won on the football pitch.”
